Water and Jobs Going Out of State

Nestle’s resource manager has been boasting that their corporation want to expand their operations “offer good jobs to Mainers.” However, the reality is different. Activists have been documenting Poland Spring water tankers leaving the state for some time. On July 29th, activists videoed the Poland Spring tankers leaving the state with our spring water for the Framingham Massachusetts bottling plant. At that facility they bottle water for the office Water cooler market. Mr DuBois has said that 10 to 15 water tankers leave from Glenwood Springs and 30 to 40 leave from Garden Springs each day.The bottling process could be done in Maine and the filled water cooler bottles then delivered to the Massachusetts market. So as you watch this video you can think of Maine jobs going out of the state.

What do Mainers get when our water is trucked out of state in bulk? Money for the water…think again! We do get wear and tear on our highways and roads which costs taxpayers dearly and air pollution which fills the air.
